Ramona does consulting...
Ramona Russell has spent her entire career in marketing, public relations, sales and fundraising. After her 28 year old sister, Liz, died from breast cancer, she decided to create a legacy for her while making a difference. The result? Uptown Liz.
Ramona used her experience and skills to do her own marketing and public relations for Uptown Liz. In three weeks after launching, the company received national press, and the buzz continued with over 50 mentions in outlets such as FOXNews, BusinessWeek and Lucky Magazine. In less than one year, Uptown Liz ruled on the search engines with top listings for all of the charitable shopping phrases. This became one of the number one ways the media and retailers discovered the company.
Ramona is passionate about business and helping others. So when she noticed that her colleagues had the same problems and questions when it came to marketing and public relations, she decided to use her first-hand expertise and offer consulting services on these topics.
Ramona's direct and honest advice will help you with your most pressing marketing and public relations concerns, whether it's how to forgo the expensive agencies and do it yourself, or what to look for when shopping for one of those pricey firms. Your business success is Ramona's passion. You won't have to explain much about your situation in order to get to the nitty gritty.

With a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and a strong sales and public relations background, Ramona has marketed some of Sacramento's most notable events, forged important media relationships on behalf of clients and influenced many of the region's largest public relations campaigns. Ramona's work is diverse, and includes experience in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors.
Prior to launching her own business, Ramona marketed all of the Sacramento Metro Chamber's events - most notably Perspectives 2005, the largest public affairs event in Northern California. Ramona received distinction for marketing and writing the script for Perspectives, thanks to the development of the introduction she prepared for keynote speaker, General Colin Powell. Having remarked that it was the best introduction he had ever received in his career, Ramona's role in Perspectives helped expose her talents as an intuitive writer and promoter.
Before taking on the Sacramento Metro Chamber, Ramona had the unique challenge of helping launch the marketing and public relations campaign of Hemispheres Arts Academy, a then-infant non-profit looking to develop its brand and ignite a presence for itself in Sacramento. The brainchild of Vice Mayor Rob Fong and beneficiary of an initial grant from the Maloof Family, Hemispheres had high-profile support but was in need of extensive community outreach and media coverage.
During Ramona's two years with the organization, enrollment exploded with growth of more than 500% and thanks to her efforts, Hemispheres forged strategic partnerships with notable organizations. The large amount of media coverage, including a Sacramento News & Review cover story, several articles in The Sacramento Bee, and live television segments on Good Day Sacramento, helped obtain a $100,000 construction project donation.
Ramona's sales and marketing roots can be traced to one of her first jobs as a sales associate with well-respected sales and public relations giant, Nordstrom, where she was awarded Counter of the Year - a prestigious sales award given to the top retailers amongst 40 different regions.
In her free time, Ramona focuses on her many passions which include marathon training, and causes that focus on women's health, children and the military.
